The Pain Receptors in the Skin

Almighty Allah says in the Glorious Quran in Surah An-Nisa chapter 4 verse 56:

"Surely! Those who disbelieve in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) We shall burn them in Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for other skins that they may taste the punishment. Truly, Allah is Ever Most Powerful, All Wise."

Verse 56 gives a clear indication of the existence of pain receptors.

Prof. Tajatat Tejasen, Chairman of the Department of Anatomy at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, has spent a great amount of time on research of pain receptors. Initially he could not believe that the Qur’an mentioned this scientific fact 1,400 years ago. He later verified the translation of this particular Qur’anic verse. Prof. Tejasen was so impressed by the scientific accuracy of the Qur’anic verse, that at the 8th Saudi Medical Conference held in Riyadh on the Scientific Signs of Qur’an and Sunnah, he proudly proclaimed in public:

“There is no God but Allah and Muhammad (pbuh) is His Messenger."

From this verse he concluded that 1400 years ago it was already hinted in Quran that nerve endings of nerve cells (which carry sensory information from organs to the brain) are present in the skin and even a pinch can produce sensation of pain in the skin/body. Changing skin as a punishment means that a person will feel pain. Hence this proves authenticity of Quran that it is a word of Allah-the only God, and not of any man.

May Allah almighty guide us and give us courage to follow Islam, Ameen
